Former StockCross Broker Herbert Voss Barred for Not Cooperating with Regulatory Investigation
Former StockCross broker Herbert Voss was recently barred from the securities industry by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) after he refused to cooperate with an investigation into allegations of unauthorized options trading.
From 2009 to 2018, Herbert Voss worked as a broker and investment adviser with StockCross Financial Services, Inc. However, on May 23, 2018, StockCross terminated Voss over allegations that he engaged in unauthorized trading in a customer's account. On the same day, he was barred from the securities industry after FINRA conducted its own investigation into the allegations. During the investigation, FINRA requested Voss to appear for an on-the-record testimony. Voss refused to appear, violating FINRA Rules 8210 and 2010.
Prior to becoming barred, Voss spent 33 years working in the securities industry and was registered with a number of other firms before StockCross Financial Services, including UBS Financial Services, Waterhouse Securities, Kennedy Cabot & Company, Professional Brokerage Services, Investors Center, J. Alexander Securities, Donald & Company Securities, Kennedy Cabot & Company, and Prudential-Bache Securities.
Voss has been the subject of seven customer disputes, one of which is currently pending. Those customer disputes alleged a wide array of misconduct, including breach of fiduciary duty, negligent misrepresentation, fraud, excessive trading, unauthorized trades, and unsuitable investment recommendations.
