Meyer Wilson Investigating Claims Against Former Broker Henry Watson
The securities fraud attorneys at Meyer Wilson are currently investigating claims against former broker and investment adviser Henry Al Dean Watson (CRD# 1326969).
Former J.J.B. Hilliard, W.L. Lyons, LLC broker and investment adviser Henry Watson (CRD# 1326969) has been permanently barred from acting as a broker or associating with any firms that sell securities to the public by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). He was also the subject of two customer disputes settled for a total of $416,500.
The first dispute was filed on March 1, 2010. The customer alleged that Watson recommended unsuitable investments, failed to supervise, negligently misrepresented information, churned their account, committed fraud and omitted information, respondeat superior, breached their fiduciary duty, breached their contract and violated the South Carolina Unfair Trade Pracices Act and the South Carolina Uniform Securities Act. The customer was granted $250,000 in damages.
The second dispute was filed on September 8, 2015. The customer alleged that Watson had excessively traded and received excessive commissions, performed unauthorized trades and mismanaged their portfolio. The customer was granted $166,500 in damages.
FINRA bared Watson on January 17, 2017 after he failed to appear for on-the-record testimony requested in connection with an inquiry into an arbitration claim filed by a customer. He signed a Letter of Acceptance, Waiver & Consent (AWC) acknowledging that he received FINRA’s request and accepted the consequences.
Watson was registered with J.J.B. Hilliard, W.L. Lyons, LLC based out of Greenville, SC until October 12, 2016. Prior to that, he was registered with Scott & Stringfellow, LLC based out of Greenville, SC.
