BBB Sponsors Investment Fraud Prevention Seminar in Baltimore "Outsmarting Investment Fraud"

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. That’s the advice the Better Business Bureau has been offering to consumers for the past 100 years. This month, it takes that advice one step further by teaming up with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority’s Investor Education Foundation to offer a free investment fraud prevention seminar in Baltimore, Maryland. The seminar is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2012.

Held Downtown on S. Sharp Street near Camden Yards, “Outsmarting Investment Fraud” will help investors learn how to recognize investment fraud risk factors, avoid investment schemes, and prevent investment fraud. Topics to be discussed include: broker misrepresentation, high-pressure sales tactics, suitability, unauthorized trading, and the scam artist favorite: the “free meal.”

The hour-long seminar is free, but advance registration is required. Contact or call 410-347-3990 for more information. Register online here. Can’t make the seminar or don’t live in Baltimore?
