A: No, but it is definitely recommended.  Securities arbitration is a complex legal process and the arbitration panel’s decision is considered binding.

The brokerage firm will probably hire a highly skilled defense lawyer, who is well versed in securities litigation.  They will fight your claim and work hard to disprove your case.  If an experienced securities arbitration attorney does not represent you, you will be at a significant disadvantage during the hearing.
