How to Identify China Stock Scams
As the United States economy continues to struggle, more and more scam artists will continue to find ways to take advantage of unsuspecting investors. The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) has issued a warning concerning one such investment fraud, known as “China” stock scams. There are many legitimate investment opportunities available that are linked to China’s stock markets. However, according to FINRA, there are many that are only scams and that advertise China stocks that actually have no connection to the country’s stock markets.
You need to be careful and do your homework if you receive a solicitation via fax, email or text message regarding stocks that are affiliated with China’s stock markets. You should definitely be cautious if the advertisement offers quick and large returns, as well as places a high level of urgency on getting involved.
FINRA has provided a list of characteristics that these investment schemes may have, including pressure to invest right away, making predictions of tremendous growth and claiming that it is simple to make profits in China.
