Shelly J. Coffman is an investigator with the firm.
Ms. Coffman graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland and then went on to receive a Masters of Business Administration from The University of Arkansas.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Coffman taught in a developmental elementary program for the Department of Defense School System in Landstuhl, Germany. Upon her return to the United States, Ms. Coffman was employed by Stephens, Inc., an investment banking firm, where she served a broad client base of institutional and individual investors.
In addition, Ms. Coffman worked with a well- known nationwide securities class action firm, focusing primarily upon investors seeking financial recovery for losses suffered as a result of securities fraud, including derivative lawsuits filed against corporate boards, seeking to impose corporate governance reforms aimed at protecting shareholders and eliminating corporate waste and abuse. While working along side these firms, Ms. Coffman had the opportunity to be involved with dozens of major securities and consumer class action cases including the still pending In re Initial Public Offering Securities Litigation, one of the largest class action cases ever filed.
Upon joining Meyer & Associates, Ms. Coffman's focus has been on the growing consumer class action practice of the firm as her expertise in class action litigation covers a wide spectrum of industries. Ms. Coffman’s familiarity with the litigation environment enables her to provide assistance at every stage of a case - from initial strategy to discovery, and through settlement or trial and allows her to work closely with firm attorneys to identify, develop, document and prosecute consumer fraud cases.
